COCOA CUP /2022/
A bitter drink made out of cocoa beans was brought from Central America to Europe by Hernán Cortéz. The Spanish aristocracy had it for breakfast in bed in the morning after adding sugar and vanilla. It was believed to supply the necessary life force. The traditional cocoa mug had a lid that kept the drink warm for a long time so they could stay in bed until lunch.
Every piece is slip cast still unique and never the same. Cups and lids are covered with a transparent glaze, high fired at 1230°C.
