BASKET NARRATIVE /2022/

Work telling a story of the symbolic level of the phenomenon of porcelain and ceramic baskets, carved bowls and netted plates from the tables of the royal court. I dip the crochet baskets into the clay material. The idea is based on the principles of formal imitation and missing material recording. The process of building the basket gradually connects elements and meaningfully merges ceramics and textiles. The key skeleton of the narrative and the construction of the basket. 

All the baskets are crocheted by me, dipped into the clay, covered by coloured engobas specially developed for this collection and high-fired at 1230°C. Some of them are covered by a transparent glaze after bisque firing.
